Additionally, if you commit to a 6 or 12 month lease, we can offer you a lower rate.
The size of the storage unit you need totally depends on how you are planning to use it! Most of our clients use their local locker like an extension of their home so a 3′ x 4′ or 4′ x 5 unit works perfectly. They store things that they only need a few times a month or only use seasonally. Examples include skiis, winter clothes, golf clubs, extra books, family photo albums and memorabilia, bikes, car seats, kids toys, holiday decorations, scooters, etc!
If you are planning to move a small apartment into a storage unit and don’t have large pieces of furniture, we would recommend at least a 5′ x 5′, but depending on how much stuff you have, you might want a bigger unit.
We do not offer 24-hour access at any of our storage facilities. The storage access hours are from 7:00am-9:30pm every day, including holidays.
Yes, all of our storage facilities in Fort Greene are temperature controlled.

At our Clinton Hill location, all the storage units are accessible on the ground floor. So in this case there isn’t an elevator because there are not any stairs!
At our 80 Rockwell location there is not an elevator and one flight of stairs is required to access the storage units.
All of our storage units in Fort Greene are tall enough to walk inside (at least 6.5′).
Self storage is the kind of storage that you can access regularly by yourself. Generally people use it when they have extra items they want to store outside their home to make additional space and/or when they are moving.
At Local Locker we take access and convenience seriously – we know that you are choosing self storage because you want to handle your items yourself and want to be able to access your stuff at a moment’s notice, anytime you need. For that reason, we make all of our storage facilities accessible via a secure personal keycode so that you are free to pop in to your storage unit and grab your things without a reservation in advance.
On demand storage is a different kind of storage where a company picks up and delivers your items to you. For some people, this is the best option! We don’t currently offer on-demand services but are happy to refer you to other companies if you are interested.
